In a heartfelt message on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda commended the leader for dismantling the “carefully cultivated myth” that the Congress party alone could maintain national unity and stability. 

In his letter, 92-year-old Gowda remarked, “I wish you a very happy 75th birthday. May God be on your side always, and give you the strength to take our nation to greater heights.” He credited Modi’s 11 years in office with ensuring socio-economic stability and security, noting, “The people of India have acknowledged this at every turn and every election.” 

Gowda noted a significant change in national sentiment over the last decade, stating, “You have blown up this myth forever.” He praised Modi for showcasing India’s civilizational strength, “This new confidence has caused a national resurgence that will play a big role in taking India to unimaginable heights in the near future.” 

He concluded with well-wishes for Modi’s health, asserting, “May the lord almighty give you good health and ensure that you become a centenarian.”
